Know Before You Go

  • Pack at least two sets of clothes to accommodate the change of temperatures during the day and at night respectively wear thin fabric as opposed to thick fabric. Sturdy walking shoes, a hat, sunglasses, and sunglasses to cover the face against the sand storm is basic necessity. Bring also a refillable water bottle and a portable charger for your gadgets.
  • When you are traveling at night, the temperature drops especially if you are in the winter, so be sure to pack for it. Again sand is likely to find its way in the electronics, so ensure that the cameras or phones have protective cases.
  • Average physical fitness is sufficient to undertake most activities as are camel riding or walking through the gorges. However, you have received camel ride options; they are not general, but you can decide to use 4X4 instead.
  • English and French are the two commonly used languages by the guides, though learning few basic Arabic or Berber words will be helpful in interaction.
  • You should avoid dressing indecently especially in the rural areas where people are so conservative. The rule is to always obtain permission when one wants to take photographs of individuals or in the villages.
  • Trip meals are Moroccan since the country’s culinary specialties are identified by tagines, couscous, and warm bread. Available on request also are vegetarian dishes.
  • Most of the roads’ surfaces are in good state but some of the road segments could be curvy or in some cases the road could be bumpy especially when passing through the mountains. If you have motion sickness, it is prudent to take along medication with you.
