Explore Morocco like never before as you join this 6 Day trip in Morocco from Marrakech. This tour is a nice mix of social encounter, history and the exploration of the physical geography of the world. Your journey should start with the most famous site in the city, the Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, and one of the most beautiful gardens you can find in Marrakech – the Majorelle Gardens. Carry on to the high Atlas Mountains, depending on the season we will be crossing the Tizi n’Tichka pass. Go to the Ait Benhaddou, the listed by UNESCO beautiful clay-built ksar that briefly hosted famous Hollywood stars. The drive will now proceed towards Ouarzazate – the “Hollywood of Africa” which will surprise you with its kasbah, and the film studio.
Go further into the Dades and Todra Gorges to experience the scenaries and rocks in formation. Around Merzouga in the Sahara desert, there is where the tour’s climax brings you through a camel ride on Erg Chebbi’s golden sand dunes. Check out a fabulous sunset, taste a local Berber meal and sleep in a tented camp in the middle of the desert. End your touring at the beautiful Skoura Palm Oasis before getting back to Marrakech with lots of sweet memories.

Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech to Ait Benhaddou and Ouarzazate

Your trip starts early in the morning and takes you through the Tizi n’ Tichka pass; these are a very winding passes with enticing scenic views of the High Atlas mountains. On the way, there will be a typical Berber village where you can also have your Berber tea and learn some more about the Berber people. Head to the next location: Ait Benhaddou – the special UNESCO listed wonderful kasbah with historical and cultural information given. In the afternoon it will go on to Ouarzazate a place of breathtaking scenic locations like Taourirt Kasbah and many studios for movies. Accommodation at an cozy Riad in Ouarzazate.

Day 2: Ouarzazate to Dades Valley

Winding down the colorful gorge, after breakfast, drive to todays destination, the beautiful valley of Dades. Drive through the famous ‘’ The Road of a Thousand Kasbahs ‘’ on to the Skoura Palm Oasis visit the many Kasbahs there nestled between the mountains greenery. Your tour continues in the Valley of Roses, where you will have an opportunity to find out more about the local production of roses. Reach the impressive Dades Gorges, whereby you will accompany a walking tour through the gorge’s extraordinary rock formations along with rich vegetation. Overnight in a delightful guesthouse at the Dades Valley.

Day 3: Dades Valley to Todra Gorges and Merzouga

Start your day with a ride to Todra Gorges; this is a breathtaking gorge; with a height of up to 300 meters. Spend time walking through the gorge and also visit some local Berber people. Head to Merzouga and there meets the huge golden sand dunes of Erg Chebbi on your Morocco trip. Go for a camelback tour into the desert, and reach the desert camp before sunset . Berber dinner with music and stories will be served with the help of Amazigh musicians and modern artists under the NATURAL ZEfra building.

Day 4: Merzouga to Rissani and Nkob

Go to the Rissani town and there is a large market that producers and sells products as well as Moulay Ali Cherif Mausoleum, who founded the Alaouite dynasty. Day 5: Nkob to Ouarzazate via Draa Valley

Leave Nkob and drive through the stunning Draa Valley which is the longest valley of Morocco exclusive of dates palm groves and Berber houses. On the way, there are opportunities to grasp how agricultural products are commercialized and discover the history of the region. Return to Ouarzazate in the afternoon to explore other kasbah or you can laze in at the accommodation of your choice. All spend the night in Ouarzazate.

Day 6: Ouarzazate to Marrakech

End your tour with a drive, through the Mountainous region of the High Atlas back to Marrakech. Take one last break for photo shoot and relaxation at an attractive view point on tea break. Once you reach Marrakech you will be afforded some time to stroll around this energetic city and check the key sights on your own in the last days of the tour.

Know Before You Go

  • Packing Tips: Pack casual wear for the day, warm wear for the night especially when in the desert, comfortable shoes, sun block and hat. But remember to have your own water bottle because it’s very important to stay hydrated.
